The project narrates an intimate experience for one, enjoying a sensorial walk into nature, strolling through the meandering paths of Iceland, discovering pockets of surprises and an oasis of nature, A tranquil moment for one. The project’s minimalist essence is evident in its light and spacious character, allowing the inhabitants to experience an unobstructed connection to the outdoors. This intentional blurring of boundaries between the inside and outside fosters a sense of harmony and continuity within the living spaces, effectively cultivating a serene and relaxing environment.
Though the Lazarus project is an unconventional home, as it provides basic needs and shared space, it is set apart by its spatial composition and materiality, creating a visual and tactile continuity between landscape and architecture.
Inspired by the Japanese five-element theory- Earth, water, fire, wind, and void. The design of the space brings out the most fundamental aspect of life. The primary need’s a person needs to sustain. Understanding that the point of life is here and now.
